Official Response to Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Updated 6/15/2020
In an effort to comply with the guidance provided by our county, CDC and our nation's leadership, Calvary Church will continue implementing a plan with precautionary measures that will ensure the safety of our church family while also giving us the ability to move forward with faith and wisdom. Please know that we will not hesitate to take the proper actions necessary to protect both our local assembly and our community with a positive and biblical outlook.
1.We are holding one service on Sunday morning at 11:15 am.
2. We are continuing with our regularly scheduled mid-week service.
3. We have postponed our 10am Sunday school classes until further notice.
As things evolve and progress is made, we will provide additional updates and let you know when we will be able to resume our regular worship service schedule. Given the data that is coming from the front lines, where outbreaks are taking place, we are asking each of our church members to be mindful of going out into public unnecessarily. When it is necessary to go out in public, make sure that you take appropriate actions such as washing your hands and using disinfectant to keep you and your family safe.
We believe that church involvement is a necessity to the believer to ensure that we stay spiritually fit and healthy during this time. While this is a time to exercise caution and safety, it is not a time for us to be fearful. Anxiety and fear are gripping the hearts of many across our nation and in our community. If there has ever been a time for us to come together as the people of God, it is now. Please note that we will be cleaning and sanitizing the church before and after each service. Additionally, we are asking each of service attendees to comply with the following guidelines while attending services:
1.Avoid skin contact
Here at Calvary Church, we are a loving and close-knit church family. We enjoy shaking hands and sharing hugs. However, to help minimize the risk, we are asking our church family members to avoid physical contact. When you walk in the door, there is a sanitizing station for you to use as you enter the building as well as when you exit. We have tissues available throughout the sanctuary for your use. Please grab one to keep with you at your seat in the event you need to cough or sneeze. It is vital to the health and safety of our church family that all tissues be disposed of properly. Please do not leave tissues on the chairs or in the altar area. Doing so not only helps us keep the church clean, but also mitigates the risk of others getting sick as well.
2.Exercise social distancing
We are asking that immediate families sit together and leave at least the distance of one row between each family. Our current sanctuary set up will comfortably accommodate this request for the time being.
3.Use caution and wisdom
If you become ill and develop any symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, or difficulty breathing, call your healthcare provider for medical advice immediately, and please stay home and isolate yourself. Please follow the recommendation provided on the CDC website: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
The bible tells us in James 5:14-16:
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availed much.
If you become ill and are not able to attend service, please let us know so that we can pray for you and with you so that you may recover quickly.
It is important that we stay connected as a church family during this time. If you are not able to attend services, please plan to watch us via our Facebook Live stream located on our Calvary Church Loveland Facebook page. Our live steam will enable you to worship with us, engage, and even continue to be faithful in giving of your tithe and offering. We have text to give and online giving available online at calvarychurchloveland.com
We will continue to monitor the bulletins that are provided daily by the WHO, CDC and our local health authorities and it is our intent to be compliant with the requests that are made.
These appear to be very uncertain times, but our God is not uncertain about anything. He is the same today, yesterday and forever.
I believe that we can see the hand of God work in our local assembly while also allowing an even greater reach into the lives of those that are uncertain, hurting, fearful, and affected during this time. We can and we will rise above. Our peace, safety and security come from a God who Reigns above all things. It is my prayer that during this time, we will rise to the occasion and be the church that God has called us to be!
I encourage our church family to memorize Psalm 91 and quote and pray it every day over your family, your church and our community:
Psalm 91 (KJV)
1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a]
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
3 Surely he will save you
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 “Because he[b] loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”
